Lydia Appiah-Dwamena, MD
Founder of Palo Alto Women’s Health Center and has been in practice in San Antonio since 2007.
My experience in women’s health started in Ghana, located in West Africa. There, I obtained an undergraduate and medical degree at Kwame Nkrumah University, School of Medical Sciences.
I have been a physician since 1992, practicing for five years in Ghana before coming to the United States in 1997.
I completed my internship in internal medicine at NYC Health Hospitals, Harlem, New York.
I completed my residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston in 2003.
In 2005, I became a Board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). I am a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), FACOG, and a member of TMA and BCMS. Since 2020 I have been an adjunct professor at The University of Incarnate Word Medical School.
I Love being an OB/GYN. My passion is to provide complete care to women of all ages. I Love San Antonio, enjoy cooking, reading and dancing, and when I am not working, enjoy spending time with my family.
